WHY WORK WITH ME?

While collaborating with many groups and helping them to success, my roles and experience have included graphic designer, brand champion, art director, mentor, team lead, creative growth, production artist, and cheerleader. I’ve worked remotely and in-house with teams worldwide. 

I’m half right-brain/half left-brain, making me quite good at balancing between the fine art of pragmatism and that of unbridled creativity. Engaging in guidance and participation in design and its structure, my craft helps teams to achieve exceptional outcomes.

 

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Power…Point to the people. In my work with Okta and Salesforce, the design, development, and maintenance of PowerPoint templates, style guides, icons, and online media used within instructor-led training, event training, and certification helped our instructors, developers, and marketing members to achieve exceptional coursework, online content, and communication to and for our customers.

  • Variety is the spice of life. As a dedicated board member for Variety – the Children’s Charity of Northern California, we help to make the community better for the children of Northern California through governance and guidance. My skills and passion in design help our team to develop branding, marketing materials, and website design and upkeep.

  • Amassing an army of minions. The “Salesforcelandians,” an ongoing and ever-growing collection of illustrated characters used throughout the 700+ module Trailhead learning system at Salesforce brought consistency and clarity to customers. As team lead in developing, delegating and directing creation to other artists, working with a lead Illustrator (as well as illustrating characters myself), we brought Trailhead teaching concepts to life. 

  • Creating and cataloging encapsulated universes. Our Salesforce team developed and maintained internal and external badge style guides for the online and event-based Trailhead Learning System. Part of the fun was in collaborating with my fellow designers in creating the actual badge designs used in the Trailhead learning environment.

 

EXPERIENCE

Freelance Graphic Designer

Single projects and multiple-month assignments over the years have included: Okta, lowercase productions, The Creative Group, Cahan & Associates, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn Kids, Venables Bell & Partners, Filter Talent.

  • Current project includes research, design, and best practice implementation of a new PowerPoint template for the Content Development Team at Okta. Includes working with instructors, content developers, and management to adhere to company brand standards while simultaneously developing icons, graphics, and slides wrapped up into a single template that can effectively be utilized in on-line, in print, classroom, conferences and events, and large-scale projection environments. Secondary projects include posters, badges, and illustration.

  • Past projects include web sites development, social media,third party email construction (Constant Contact, Mailchimp, etc.), identity, branding, print, illustrations, land use master plans, and out-of-home advertising

  • Worked with content teams, designers, creative directors, production leads, agencies, web developers, project managers, and print and photography vendors​

Senior Graphic Designer

Trailhead Creative, Salesforce, 2017 – October 2018

Created, collaborated, and conceptualized with a team of five creatives. Supported the 350+ person Trailhead Department and select company-wide initiatives in graphic needs.

  • Solidified the “Salesforcelandian” character illustration project. As Team Lead, presented a consistent voice for departmental character illustration best practices

  • Team lead on PowerPoint template development for instructor-led training and events, with secondary development in Keynote and Google Slides

  • Brand and style guide authoring, review, education, and enforcement

  • Mentoring and teaching of junior team members and contractors

  • Transitioned designs and resources from Dropbox to Google Drive including revamping naming structure and content hierarchy giving the department a start with their asset management best practices

  • Illustration and editing of digital assets and company mascots used widely throughout the Salesforce ecosystem

Developed concepts for marketing, trade-show exhibitions, client deliverables as well as various client needs. Member of ten-person design team for the Western U.S. region.

  • Guided design team in the growth, implementation and understanding of evolving branding standards, including creation and distribution of brand materials

  • Served as liaison with clients, partners, and team members, providing feedback on creative direction as well as recommendations for new and innovative solutions
