John was born in May 1969 in a small, rural town outside of Chicago. He climbed oak trees, watched fireflies and played in the cornfields until around the age of seven. His family moved to Colorado and ended up in scenic Steamboat Springs - Ski Town USA, a year later. He spent the next twelve years on skis and graduated from Steamboat High in 1987.
For the next five and a half years, John spent the majority of his time studying creative writing at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. He took a year off right in the middle and explored some of Europe, spending time in Germany, France, and Spain. He graduated in Winter of 1992.
John promptly started his art training after graduation by attending a two year graphic design intership at Colorado State University under the privileged tutelage of award winning Art Director Dale Rosenbach. He's been in the design industry ever since. He moved to San Francisco in the Fall of 2000.
John is happily married to a wonderful man, Colin Daly, and lives in the Mission District. He belongs to a food and wine collective, a science fiction and fantasy book club, and loves to travel. John is currently unemployed in the San Francisco Bay Area. His art and photography is showing in a variety of locations around the city.
